nation’s premier restorative justice conference reflects the culmination of that work and our continued
dedication to advancing equity and healing.
About Our Presentation
Dr. Sonja Fernandez and Aeon’s leadership will co-present
“Decolonizing Our Practices: Restorative Pathways for Parent–Child Relationships.” This
presentation explores how restorative practices can be reimagined through a decolonial lens to
strengthen the parent–child bond, address intergenerational trauma, and create more equitable pathways
to family healing.
This work sits at the intersection of Aeon’s core specialties — trauma-informed care,
parent-child psychotherapy, and family-centered healing — and represents a natural
extension of the restorative, community-driven approach we bring to every client relationship.
About the NACRJ Conference
The NACRJ 10th National Conference on Community & Restorative Justice is the largest
gathering of restorative justice practitioners, researchers, educators, and advocates in the United
States. This year’s theme, “The Future Is Restorative,” brings together
visionaries from across the country to chart the next decade of community-centered justice.
The response to this year’s Call for Proposals was overwhelming — the conference received close
to 400 proposals for just 189 program slots, making our selection an
incredible honor and a testament to the relevance and impact of our work.
